summer prints.....

This quilt is so summery!!!!
When I was up in washington I fell in love with the fabrics of it. My grandma bought me the fabric as a surprise
(It came in a packet called layer cake... the fabrics were all cut into 10 inch squares and in a stack, which is nice because you get such a variety of fabrics that all so great together)
I came home ready to get started on it! It was really fun to do. I finished it but then really wanted to get it quilted on a quilting machine to see fun designs in it...
so I asked my grandma to quilt it for me and she did.. It looks awesome. I put the binding on it today and it is finished!! Madi couldnt keep off of it. she likes it too!

Butterfly dreams

This quilt was a lot of fun to make... I wanted to keep it! I love it! I got the pattern from a book I have, but enlarged the squares. It turned out to be quite big. I love the contrast of the white fabric with all of the colorful swirled fabric (maybe cant see in this small of a pic, but double click to see larger). I also curved the edges which I hadn't ever done, so I was worried it may not turn out (the binding), but all is well and it looks great! Congrats Sheralyn, cant wait to see your little girl!

This is how I give all of my quilts. Folded up with a ribbon. I like to fold it this way because the surprise is inside..... I almost always use soft fuzzy fabric for my backing.. It just feels so good to wrap a baby up in a nice soft blanket!
I have made so many quilts, probably at least 100. No really, literally 100! I always take pictures of the quilts I make and save all of my thank you cards. I have them side by side in an album... well actually its filled so I need a new one, they are all stacked up now. I love to quilt, make new projects, try new things and serve those around me. I enjoy it so much! I mean who doesnt love to get a brand new handmade quilt right?

Castles and Kings

I made this for a good friend. She picked out the fabric and found the pattern. The castles are pieced and were a lot of fun to make. I quilted it on my grandmas quilting machine with her help. I got to do fun swirls, stippling and wavy lines!

Vintage Flowers

This was made for Amber and Brekkyn. I used many different tiny flower print fabrics. White squares to pop out of the array of flowers.... Many of the fabrics are vintage that I have found at garage sales, my grandma, and mother in law. This is by far one of my favorites...ever!

Twinkle Little Star

There are times I make quilts and fall in love with them... and it is hard to part with... yes this is one of them. I love it!!! Now I couldnt and havent kept a quilt I have made for someone else. That is impossible since I make each quilt for a specific person. I have their thoughts, styles and likes in mind as I pick and choose the fabric and patterns :)
I do not premake them "in case" someone has a baby..... Besides I dont have time to premake anything!! I barely get these done! I embroidered the words and did patchwork to frame them. Super soft fleece is on the back in royal blue. I made this for a friend who had her first baby , a boy!! Enjoy Christine! and baby Caden!

Police Man

This is a personalized quilt made with t shirts, uniform shirts and quilting fabric. It was a thank you for my husband for all he does. I used an academy shirt, a uniform shirt, a coach shirt, and a few of his random work shirts he had. I also used the last square for the kids to draw a picture with fabric markers. I have been collecting all of the police fabric for some time! The back has soft fuzzy fleece and the binding is hand stitched.
